Niger gov appoints six commissioners-designate, four political aides

The Secretary to the Government of Niger State, Abubakar Usman, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday.
He stated that the appointments formed part of the present administration’s efforts to strengthen governance, improve service delivery and ensure broader representation across the state.
The appointees include Hon. Lucky Barau of Gurara Local Government Area; Hon. Isah Wakili of Bosso Local Government Area; and Dr Isah Adamu of Kontagora Local Government Area.
Others are Hon. Emmanuel Alamu of Magama Local Government Area; Hon. Shuaibu Saidu Kaboji of Mashegu Local Government Area; and Mohammed Danladi Garba of Borgu Local Government Area.
The governor also appointed Alhaji Nma Kolo as Chief Political Adviser. Yahaya Emilugi, Yusuf Tagwai and Salman Yusuf were named Special Advisers on Political Matters for Zones A, B and C, respectively.
The Information Officer in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Kuta, signed the statement.
The statement said: “Niger State Governor Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has approved the appointment of six Commissioners-Designate, subject to confirmation by the State House of Assembly.
“The appointees are Hon. Lucky Barau, Gurara Local Government Area, Hon. Isah Wakili, Bosso Local Government Area, Dr. Isah Adamu, Kontagora Local Government Area, Hon. Emmanuel Alamu, Magama Local Government Area, Hon. Shuaibu Saidu Kaboji, Mashegu Local Government Area and Mohammed Danladi Garba, Borgu Local Government Area.

“A statement issued by Alhaji Abubakar Usman, Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG) further disclosed that Farmer Governor Bago also approved the appointment of Alhaji Nma Kolo as Chief Political Adviser.
“Yahaya Emilugi, Yusuf Tagwai and Salman Yusuf were named Special Advisers on Political Matters for Zones A, B and C respectively.
“The SSG stated that the appointments form part of the present administration’s efforts to strengthen governance, improve service delivery and ensure broader representation across the State,” it stated.
The commissioners-designate are expected to appear before the House of Assembly for screening and confirmation in line with the law.
