Security forces rescue two abducted children in Kwara, kill two suspected kidnappers
by Adenle Ahmed Abiola · The Eagle OnlineA joint security team comprising operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and forest guards on Thursday rescued two abducted children in a forest between Oba Isin/Owa Onire area of Isin/Ifelodun Local Government Areas of Kwara State.
The rescued victims are 16-year-old Fatima Azeez and her five-year-old brother, Ibrahim.
Available information disclosed that two suspected kidnappers were killed during the operation, while others reportedly escaped with gunshot wounds.
Security agencies were said to be continuing operations to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
Items recovered from the scene included an AK-47 rifle, a single-barrel gun, one fully loaded magazine, nine empty magazines, a mini solar charger and food items.

According to Government sources, the rescue was part of ongoing multi-agency counter-terrorism and anti-kidnapping operations aimed at tackling insecurity in the state.
The operation comes days after security agencies rescued pupils and teachers who had been abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
