One dead, seven injured as trailer crashes into APC campaign
by The Eagle Online · The Eagle OnlineOne person was reportedly killed and seven others injured when a trailer rammed into a campaign procession of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday in Ede, Osun State.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) learnt that the incident occurred in the Oke Gada area of the town during a campaign walk organised for the APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
It was learnt that the driver of the trailer claimed the vehicle suffered brake failure.
An eyewitness said the trailer veered off its course and ploughed into the party procession.
The Injured victims were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The Director of Media and Information of the APC in the state, Kola Olabisi, confirmed the incident, noting that full details were yet to reach the party secretariat.
Olabisi added that the party had dispatched a team to ascertain the actual cause of the accident and would provide further information upon conclusion of its findings.
When contacted, the Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Osun State Command, Agnes Ogungbemi, said the command had yet to receive any official report on the incident.
