Two soldiers, policeman killed as gunmen attack NIPSS
by The Eagle Online · The Eagle OnlineTwo soldiers and one policeman have been killed when gunmen in the early hours of Tuesday stormed the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, near Jos, Plateau State.
The Defence Headquarters, Nigeria Police Force, and management of the policy institute were yet to react to the attack.
It was learnt that troops from Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), who oversee security in the Jos South axis, have cordoned off the Kuru area.

Security forces are also said to be tracking the retreat path of the armed assailants into the surrounding hills and neighbouring communities.
Just 24 hours before the NIPSS breach, troops in Jos South arrested a high-profile suspect linked to an interstate illegal arms trafficking network.
Investigators are looking into whether the raid on NIPSS was a coordinated retaliatory strike.
