Senator Garba Musa Maidoki has officially resigned from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) following fierce internal opposition ahead of the primaries for the 2027 elections.

The senator announced the decision ahead of the APC’s scheduled senatorial primary election on Monday, May 18, 2026.

Maidoki, the representative of Kebbi South Senatorial District in the 10th National Assembly, tendered his resignation via a letter dated May 14, 2026.

The letter was addressed to the APC Ward Chairman of Rafin Zuru Ward in the Zuru Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The senator attributed his exit to the persistent, lingering internal crisis within the party, noting that the ongoing friction negatively impacted his political aspirations.

“I write to formally notify you of my withdrawal from the All Progressives Congress (APC), Rafin Zuru Ward,” the letter stated.

“This decision follows the persistent internal crises within the party, which have continued to pose serious concerns to my political aspirations,” he added.
