Governor Sanwo-Olu’s aide, Akosile, lawmaker, others set for public discourse in Lagos
by Tajudeen Balogun · The Eagle OnlineA member of the House of Representatives, Prince Olaide Lateef Muhammed and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Gboyega Akosile, are among the prominent personalities expected at the public presentation of a Compendium of Public Interest Reporting, in Lagos.
This is contained in a press statement sent to The Eagleonline by the author – a Lagos-based, multi-award-winning and Kishi-born journalist, Ridwan Adeola Yusuf.
The event, themed: ‘Nigeria Is Ours – National Development Conversation and Public Presentation of A Compendium of Public Interest Reporting,’ according to Yusuf, is scheduled to be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, in Lagos, saying that the date is significant as it coincides with Global Media and Information Literacy Week.
The programme, he indicated, will bring together thought leaders, political leaders, media professionals, youth advocates, security experts, educators, students and other stakeholders to discuss Nigeria’s development.
On the list is the lawmaker, Muhammed, otherwise called POLAM, representing the Irepo/Orelope/Olorunsogo Federal Constituency, will grace the event among other dignitaries.
Muhammed is the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Pensions in Nigeria’s 10th National Assembly. He has backed several initiatives to improve the lives of young people, including empowerment programmes, education and scholarship support, employment opportunities, and infrastructure projects.
Akosile, a media entrepreneur, is expected to participate in the programme as a keynote speaker. He has been involved in public discussions on governance, youth development and strategic communication.
The event will also feature individuals whose work and advocacy centre on national development, media, leadership, and innovation.
Prince Ogungbayi Adesegun, the Board Chairman of MIMS Educational Resources Limited, is the Chairman of the event, while Engr. Yusuf Majolagbe, the National General Secretary of the Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers (NIEE), is the Father of the Day.
A former House of Representatives aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Iseyin/Kajola/Iwajowa/Itesiwaju Federal Constituency, Hon. Yaqub Olaaje, is among the launchers.
According to the planning committee, the programme will provide an opportunity for participants to examine issues shaping Nigeria’s future, with discussions expected to cover economy, education, governance, civic awareness, and tech.
Yusuf added that a session titled: ‘AI for Everyday Life and Work’ will be held as part of the programme, focusing on practical applications of Artificial Intelligence for individuals, professionals, businesses, students, journalists and families.

The October 24 gathering is expected to combine the presentation of the book with a broader conversation on Nigeria’s development and the role of citizens, institutions, young people and the media in shaping the country’s future.
