We’ve not postponed CDCFIB ongoing recruitment — FG

by · The Eagle Online

The Federal Government has dismissed reports that it has postponed the ongoing recruitment by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) until after the 2027 general election.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, denounced the report in a statement she issued on Friday.

Ajani described as fake and unauthorised a purported press release circulating on social media and messaging platforms, claiming that the recruitment had been deferred due to funding constraints.

She said the document, titled: “CDCFIB Recruitment Update,” and dated August 11, 2026, was falsely attributed to the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

According to the Permanent Secretary, the purported statement did not originate from the Ministry of Interior, office of the minister, or the CDCFIB.

She said: “This press release is fake, unauthorised, and fraudulent.

“The Minister did not sign or issue this statement.”

Ajani said the recruitment is ongoing and urged members of the public and applicants to disregard the fake document.

The ministry advised applicants and members of the public to rely only on information published through the verified platforms of the Ministry of Interior and the CDCFIB for authentic updates on the recruitment exercise.

She directed applicants to the official recruitment portal: cdcfib.gov.ng, for relevant information and updates.
