Actress Temitope Osoba’s family warns on false narratives

The family of a Nollywood actress, Temitope Osoba, has issued a warning on false narratives about how she died and the cause of death.

The warning was contained in a statement issued shortly after she died following different accounts of her death by social media. 

The Eagle Online recalls that Osoba was aged 40 when she passed on.

A statement on Thursday signed by the family of Awonuga/Osoba said the wrong narratives of her death should be avoided at a time of mourning.

The statement, which was posted on the Instagram account of the actress, said: “On behalf of the family and loved ones of Temitope Osoba, we are deeply saddened by the spread of false and unverified reports concerning the passing of our beloved.

“At this difficult time, we wish to categorically state that the numerous claims circulating on social media and various blogs regarding the circumstances surrounding her death are false, speculative, and entirely unauthorized.

“We respectfully urge the public to refrain from sharing or promoting misinformation that only adds to the pain our family is already enduring.

“We kindly ask that everyone allow us the dignity, privacy, and time to grieve without the burden of unfounded rumors and sensational narratives.

“Should there be any information the family wishes to make public, it will be communicated through our official channels and by authorized representatives only. 

“We ask the public and members of the media to rely solely on those official statements and to disregard all unverified reports.

“We sincerely appreciate the prayers, love, and support that have been extended to our family during this heartbreaking time.

“Thank you for respecting her memory and our family’s privacy.”
