The Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Houpis, visited Israel and met with IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir.

General Dimitrios Houpis, Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (GEETHA), visited Israel, where he held talks with Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir.

According to the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, the visit highlighted the strategic importance and particular significance of the well-established military relationship between Greece and Israel.

GEETHA said the relationship continues to strengthen the longstanding ties between the two countries. Greece and Israel remain committed to expanding bilateral cooperation in addressing common challenges and promoting stability across the wider region.

During his stay in Israel, General Houpis also met with Greece’s Ambassador to Israel, Maya Solomou; the Director General of Israel’s Ministry of Defence, retired Major General Amir Baram; and the Director of International Defence Cooperation at Israel’s Ministry of Defence, retired Brigadier General Yair Kulas.

The Greek Chief of Defence was accompanied by Greece’s Defence Attaché in Israel and a senior delegation of GEETHA officers.
