Mazonakis Death: Plasmapheresis Machine Reportedly Recorded the Moment His Heart Stopped

Findings from the forensic investigation have reportedly been delivered to authorities as investigators examine the final hours of Giorgos Mazonakis’ life.

New information emerging from the investigation into the death of Greek singer Giorgos Mazonakis indicates that the plasmapheresis machine he was undergoing treatment with may have recorded the moment his vital functions ceased.

According to information reported by CNN Greece, data identified and analysed by the forensic authorities reportedly shows that blood flow through the machine began at approximately 2:37pm.

Investigators are also examining mobile phone evidence obtained following the lifting of telephone secrecy involving the two doctors under investigation.

The data reportedly indicates that photographs were taken at approximately 2:44pm and 2:45pm, while the plasmapheresis machine continued operating.

According to the same information, the machine stopped recording Mazonakis’ vital functions between approximately 3:23pm and 3:27pm, a development investigators are examining as a potentially critical moment in the timeline.

Mobile phone data reportedly shows that there was subsequently no activity on the phones of the two doctors for approximately two hours.

Meanwhile, information reported by Proto Thema claims that alarms from the plasmapheresis machine sounded two or three times at around 3:15pm, allegedly indicating that something was wrong with the patient.

The findings are now being examined alongside the medical evidence, witness accounts, telephone records and other material collected as part of the investigation.

Mazonakis, 54, died on September 10 after being transferred from the clinic in Kolonaki to Elpis Hospital in Athens.

The circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation, with authorities seeking to establish precisely what happened during the critical period between the start of the treatment and the emergency response.

The reported machine data could prove significant in reconstructing the singer’s final moments and determining when his condition deteriorated.
