Lion Green Road was named winner of the RIBA Stirling Prize, the UK’s most prestigious architecture award, on 15 October 2026 at Old Billingsgate in London, in the prize’s 30th anniversary year. Designed by Mary Duggan Architects with RUFF Architects for Croydon Council and Brick by Brick, the Coulsdon, South London scheme provides 157 homes in five blocks on a former car park, across a site that drops eight metres.

From the SNFCC to New York

According to Kalapoda, her early career included collaborating with the Renzo Piano Building Workshop team on the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) in Athens. She went on to work with Foster + Partners in London, including on the KSIA project, and with Perkins Eastman in New York, on Resorts World and a landmark adaptive reuse project.
