Nationwide Poll: Alexis Tsipras Party Trails Behind New Democracy

New Democracy leads the latest nationwide poll, with Alexis Tsipras’s new Greek Left Coalition (Αρχική | ΕΛΑΣ) in second place and PASOK third.

The Opinion Poll survey, conducted for Action 24 on 16 September 2026, followed last week’s 90th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) and also measured voters’ views of the parties’ economic and policy proposals.

In voting intention, New Democracy received 25.7%, followed by ELAS on 13.2% and PASOK on 10.1%.

Greek Solution recorded 6.1%, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) 5.7%, Course of Freedom 4.5%, and Hope for Democracy, led by Maria Karystianou, 4.0%.

Voice of Reason stood at 2.7%, below the 3% threshold for parliamentary representation.

In the poll estimating the vote share for an eight-party parliament, New Democracy reached 31%, ELAS 15.9%, and PASOK 12.1%.
Greek Solution stood at 7.3%, KKE at 6.8%, Course of Freedom at 5.4%, Hope for Democracy at 4.8% and Voice of Reason at 3.3%.

The published seat projection allocated 126 seats to New Democracy, 49 to ELAS, 38 to PASOK, 24 to Greek Solution, 21 to KKE, 15 to Hope for Democracy and 10 to Voice of Reason. Course of Freedom appears in the estimated vote-share table but does not appear in the published seat allocation.

The poll also asked voters how satisfied they were with the proposals presented at the Thessaloniki International Fair.
Some 29.6% said they were fairly or very satisfied with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s proposals. The corresponding figures were 16.4% for PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis and 15.9% for Tsipras.

Asked which party they expected to win an election, 56.1% chose New Democracy, compared with 9.5% for ELAS and 5% for PASOK. A further 15.7% said they did not know or declined to answer.

Mitsotakis also led the responses to the question of who would be best suited to serve as prime minister, with 27.9%. A further 24.9% selected “none”, while Tsipras received 13.9% and Androulakis 7.4%.
On who they trusted most to deliver on the economy, 35.1% selected “none”, while 31.5% chose Mitsotakis, 15% Tsipras and 10% Androulakis.

The survey also tested support for a potential party led by former prime minister Antonis Samaras.
Some 11.5% said they were fairly or very likely to vote for such a party, while 86.2% said they were unlikely or not at all likely to do so.
