Trump: Libya Must End Illegal Migration Corridor Amid Turkey EEZ Dispute

by · Greek City Times

President Trump said Libya “cannot remain a corridor for illegal migration, and this must end now.” He praised Libyans as a counterterrorism partner, citing their joint defeat of ISIS and honoring “sacrifices that brave Libyans made.”

Trump said the U.S. backs unifying Libya and its institutions and supports a path to national elections. He noted Libyans have been “victims of terrorism and foreign meddling for years” and urged them to “unite, take back their sovereignty.”

The remarks come amid ongoing disputes over Libya’s illegal EEZ agreement with Turkey, which ignores neighboring states’ maritime rights and has been rejected by Greece, Egypt, and others.
