Eurobank Funds Upgrades at Strategic Aegean Military Outpost

Eurobank has reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to supporting Greece’s Armed Forces by funding significant infrastructure upgrades at the Panagia surveillance outpost on the islet of Panagia in the Oinousses island complex.

The donation financed the expansion of the outpost’s facilities, including the construction of accommodation for female personnel, the extension of port infrastructure and the installation of a new mast for the Greek flag. The upgrades improve the operational capabilities of the strategically located military post in the northeastern Aegean.

The Panagia surveillance outpost falls under the command of the 96th Higher National Guard Battalions Command (96 ADTE) and occupies a location of considerable national importance.

An inauguration ceremony marked the completion of the new facilities, attended by senior military and religious officials, including Lieutenant General Dimitrios Vakentis, commander of the Supreme Military Command of the Interior and Islands, Metropolitan Markos of Chios, Psara and Oinousses, Captain Iraklis Revinthis of the Hellenic Navy, Brigadier General Panagiotis Lympereas, commander of the 96 ADTE, and Oinousses Mayor Georgios Daniil. Eurobank was represented by Deputy CEO Stavros Ioannou.

Since the beginning of 2026, Eurobank has completed three separate donations supporting military infrastructure. These include equipment for a military readiness facility on Agathonisi, the renovation of the diabetic clinic at the Salamis Naval Hospital, and a commitment to fund extensive renovations of classrooms, dining facilities and sanitary areas at the Hellenic Air Force Academy.

The bank also continues its long-running support for the families of service personnel who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
