Nicholas Brandram, the 44-year-old grandson of Princess Katherine of Greece and Denmark, has been found dead at his home in London days after being released while under investigation in the high-profile “Putney Pusher” case.

Brandram, a former private banker at HSBC, had been arrested in connection with a long-running investigation into a 2017 incident on Putney Bridge.

He was suspended from his position at HSBC following his arrest in June.

The case centres on an incident in which an unidentified man appeared to push a woman into the path of a moving bus on Putney Bridge. The woman survived after the bus driver swerved to avoid hitting her.

Brandram arrested in Putney Pusher investigation

Brandram was arrested at his home in West London on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He was later arrested again on suspicion of drug possession before being released while remaining under investigation.

Despite the investigation, Brandram had not been convicted in connection with the Putney Bridge incident.

The case had attracted significant attention in Britain after police reopened the investigation years after the original incident.

Police confirm sudden death

The Metropolitan Police said officers and London Ambulance Service personnel were called to a residence in Chiswick, west London, on Tuesday evening.

A man was found unconscious and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police subsequently confirmed that the man was Brandram.

His death is being treated as sudden, but authorities said it is not considered suspicious.

Former British Army captain

Brandram also had a military background.

He served as a captain in the British Army, with deployments including Iraq, Bosnia and Afghanistan.

His death comes while the investigation into the Putney Bridge incident remains unresolved.

The Metropolitan Police have not indicated that Brandram’s death was connected to the criminal investigation.

The circumstances surrounding his death will now be examined by the relevant authorities.
