Knife Attack at Police Station Leaves Officer Injured

A serious incident occurred at Mandras Police Station on Friday afternoon when a man armed with a knife entered the station and threatened police officers.

The incident took place at around 3:50 p.m., when the 31-year-old man reportedly entered the station in an agitated state while holding a household knife.

According to police sources, the duty officer and the station guard ordered him to drop the knife. The man instead attacked them, smashing a glass panel in the process and slightly injuring one police officer.

The officers then shot and wounded the man in the chest, bringing the attack to an end.

An EKAV ambulance transported the suspect to Thriasio Hospital for treatment.

Suspect reportedly has psychiatric history

According to information from police sources, the suspect is a 31-year-old man who reportedly has psychological problems and has previously received treatment at a psychiatric institution.

Authorities are investigating the incident to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the attack and the police shooting.

The injured police officer reportedly suffered minor injuries.
