BJP to hold Save Democracy campaign in Mysuru on Nov. 6
by InsideOut Consult · Star of MysoreMysuru: Charging the Congress, CJP (Cockroach Janta Party) and their allies of spreading fake narratives against the SIR (Special Intensive Revision) of electoral rolls conducted by the Election Commission of India (ECI) and attempting to weaken democratic institutions, MLA T.S. Srivatsa said the BJP will hold ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy’ (Prajaprabhutva Ulisi, Arajakate Alisi) campaign on Nov.6.
Addressing a press meet at the BJP Office in Chamarajapuram here yesterday, Srivatsa said a Mysuru-divisional meeting and a rally will be held in the city on Nov.6 where over 15,000 people are expected to take part.
“The rally will commence from Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple at the Palace North Gate at 10.30 am and will terminate at the Town Hall, where the divisional-level meeting of party leaders will take place. Union Ministers, State BJP Chief B.Y. Vijayendra, MLC C.T. Ravi and a host of other party leaders will participate,” he said.
Continuing, the MLA said an awareness programme will be organised to explain the Congress’ efforts to corrupt the minds of young people.
The concept of ‘SIR’ will be explained at the college-level to engage students. Discussions will be held with 250 prominent persons. Interactive sessions will be organised with experts to present the actual facts and figures, Srivatsa explained.
Stating that there is information that the Karnataka Government will take a decision on holding the forthcoming local body polls through ballot papers, he said that the Congress, which is losing the polls with EVMs, seems to be under the illusion that it can win the elections if held in ballot papers mode.
The Congress must remember that it badly lost the recently held LC polls for 4 Graduates and Teachers Constituencies conducted in ballot papers.
City BJP President L. Nagendra, who also addressed the press meet, lashed out at the Congress Government for a steep hike in milk and curd prices.
Maintaining that the prices of over 200 essential commodities have gone up multiple times in 42 months of Congress rule, he alleged that the milk price has went up by Rs.17 since the Congress came to power in May 2023.
He also alleged that the Congress Guarantee Schemes was a farce as the benefits are yet to reach the targeted beneficiaries in full.
Party Spokesperson Mahesh said that the Congress and CJP were spreading falsehood in the national capital under the guise of protests.
Asserting that the Election Commission is an autonomous body, he said the Opposition parties have forgotten that they are consulted in the appointment of Election Commissioners. The Congress must understand that the same system of nominations to the Election Commission was in place during the times of Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, Mahesh pointed out.
Party leaders E.C. Ningarajegowda, Somasundar, Mahesh Raje Urs, Jayashekar and others were present at the press meet.
