Horticulture Dept. invites entries to set up stalls, garden contests

As part of this year’s Dasara Flower Show to be held at Kuppanna Park from Oct. 11, the Department of Horticulture has invited applications for stalls and ornamental garden competitions being organised at various parks and gardens across the city.

Competitions will be held in different categories, including parks, gardens, terrace and home gardens, vegetable and medicinal plants and various species of plants grown in pots within the premises of homes, offices and private and government institutions.

Those interested in participating in the competitions or operating stalls can obtain application forms from the Office of the Joint Director of Horticulture, Zilla Panchayat, Mysuru or the Senior Assistant Director of Horticulture (Parks and Gardens), Mysuru, during office hours from 10.30 am to 5 pm.

An application fee of Rs. 100 has been fixed for the ornamental garden competition and Rs. 200 for those interested in operating stalls.

Applications will be issued from Sept. 11 and the last date for submitting the filled-in forms is Sept. 25.
