Mysore/Mysuru: JD(S) leaders have demanded the Police to ensure justice is served for the customers who have been allegedly cheated by DGF Gold Company in the city .

Extending their support to the customers, who had staged protest in front of City Police Commissioner’s office recently  demanding action against DGF Gold Company owner Sounder Raj alias Chinnatambi, who is presently arrested, JD(S) State Working President Sa.Ra. Mahesh, MLC C.N. Manjegowda and JD(S) District President Ashwin Kumar met DCP (Law and Order) Harsha Priyamvada yesterday at her office in Nazarbad and demanded action against Sounder Raj.

Sa.Ra. Mahesh said that more than 40 women, who had been cheated, had met Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy seeking justice and the return of their gold jewellery pledged with DGF Gold Company. He also warned the Police of intensifying their protest on being negligent over the issue.

Sa.Ra. Mahesh said that the Police apart from arresting Sounder Raj for cheating customers of crores of rupees with a promise to provide loans for lesser interest rate, must also initiate measures for the return of gold to the original owners.

The leaders also urged DCP Harsha Priyamvada to initiate measures for the closure of DGF Gold outlets in the city.

Sa.Ra. Mahesh also questioned the Police that despite such cases being reported frequently and complaints being filed against Chinnatambi last month, why was no action taken against the accused?

“Soon after an FIR is registered, Chinnatambi gets released on bail and continues with his business of cheating people by opening a new outlet. There needs to be an action initiated to restrain him from continuing with his business,” he added.
