Man sentenced to life for murder

Mysuru: A City Court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for the murder of a bar supplier in city.

Sudhakar alias Sudhi, a resident of Prakruti Layout in Mahadevapura here, is the one who is sentenced.

The accused Sudhakar had made it a practise to have drinks regularly at Navarang Bar and Restaurant on Manandavadi Main Road. After having food and drinks, Sudhakar used to enter into verbal duel with the bar supplier Nandan Kumar.

On the night of July 20, 2022, Sudhakar again entered into a verbal altercation with Nandan, when in a fit of rage, he stabbed Nandan to death. The then Vidyaranyapuram Police Inspector G.C. Raju carried out investigation and submitted charge sheet to the Court.

The Seventh Additional District and Sessions Court Judge V.H. Dayanand, who heard the case, held the accused Sudhakar guilty of the charges and sentenced him to life imprisonment, besides ordering the convict to pay Rs. 1 lakh to the mother of deceased Nandan.
