NDA and CDS exams held under tight security

Mysuru: The National-level defence entrance tests — NDA & NA (II) and CDS (II) exams — conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) to select candidates for admission to the three wings (Army, Navy and Air Force) in the Indian Armed forces and for selection of officers in the Indian Armed forces, was held at eight centres across the city today amid tight security around all the centres.

NDA & NA (II) exam stand for National Defence Academy and Naval Academy (II) exam, while CDS (II) exam stands for Combined Defence Services exam (II).

There were two papers for NDA & NA (II) exam: Mathematics for 300 marks held from 10 am to 12.30 pm and General Ability Test for 600 marks held in from 2 pm to 4.30 pm.

The CDS (II) exam had three papers: English (9 am to 11 am), General Knowledge (12.30 pm to 2.30 pm) and Elementary Mathematics (4 pm to 6 pm).

As many as 2,997 candidates had registered for the exams (2,437 for NDA & NA  and 560 for CDS) in Mysuru centres.

The Police had clamped prohibitory orders in 200 mts radius around all exam centres and carrying of any objectionable articles in the vicinity of exam centres was strictly banned.

Also, all photocopy shops and browsing centres in the vicinity of exam centres were ordered to shut down for the day as a security measure.
