Mysuru: City Police have rescued 35 cattle heads which were being illegally transported to slaughter houses and have seized the goods vehicle besides arresting the driver.
The arrested driver is 33-year-old Nayeem Pasha, a resident of Ghousianagar in city. The Police came to know that Nayeem along with Syed Basheer and Khasif were involved in transporting cattle to slaughter houses illegally.
Details: On Sept. 28 night, when Head Constable Shivanna, attached to Hebbal Police Station was on night patrolling in 112 emergency response vehicle, he received a message from the Police Control Room that cattle were being transported illegally in a goods vehicle on the Ring Road.
When Shivanna and staff were waiting on the Ring Road near Royal Inn Junction, they saw a goods vehicle (KA-01-AB-5107) coming from Yelwal side and signalled the driver to stop the vehicle. But the goods vehicle sped away resulting in Shivanna and staff chasing the goods vehicle in their vehicle and managing to stop it near RBI Junction.
On inspecting the goods vehicle, the Police personnel saw 35 cattle heads including cows, buffaloes and calves inside the goods vehicle and took the goods vehicle and the cattle into their custody and later handed over the vehicle and cattle to the jurisdictional Metagalli Police.
Metagalli Police, who arrested driver Nayeem Pasha, registered a case against Nayem, Syed Basheer and Khasif.
