Armoni Brooks, the standout guard for Olimpia Milano and who arguably was one of the few bright spots for the Italian side throughout the Euroleague campaign, has been targeted by Partizan, as Mozzart Sport reports. His performances have attracted serious interest from several EuroLeague clubs, and the serbian side one of the teams pushing hardest for his signature.

The Belgrade club has already taken concrete steps toward completing the move. Partizan established contact with Brooks some time ago and negotiations are reportedly progressing well, sources close to the situation told Mozzart Sport.

What is already certain is that Brooks’ contract with Olimpia Milano is set to expire. There had even been speculation about a possible return to the NBA, but the player himself recently emphasized that his focus remains entirely on the EuroLeague.

“I like it here. The league is extremely competitive and high quality. I want to stay in Europe and continue improving every year,” Brooks said earlier this season to Italian media.

Now, all signs point toward a potential move to Serbia, in a development first reported by the outlet Direktno.

Brooks averaged 13.1 points and 3.5 rebounds this season while shooting an impressive 41.6 percent from three-point range. He also appeared in all 38 EuroLeague games, numbers that clearly underline his importance to Milano alongside former Partizan forward Zach LeDay.

Partizan first initiated contact back in early April while surveying the market for backcourt reinforcements. At the time, the club also explored the possibility of signing Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot, but his salary demands were considered too high.

As things currently stand, talks with Brooks are heading in a promising direction. However, no official announcement is expected until the end of the season. The same approach has been taken with Kylor Kelley, whose agreement with the club is reportedly already finalized for next season.

All of this points toward major roster changes at Partizan, especially in the backcourt. Duane Washington, whose contract expires this summer, is widely expected to leave. The club’s sporting department appears focused on finding the ideal partner for star guard Carlik Jones, and on paper, Armoni Brooks fits that profile perfectly.
