by · ChronicleLive

These disgusting North East louts spat at police officers when confronted for their behaviour. These offenders responded to police in a vile way, when the officer was simply just doing their job.

From Newcastle to Gateshead, and North Shields to Northumberland, the six people involved in these offences were taken to court as a result of their grim actions.

In one case, a woman from Newcastle bit, kicked and spat on three officers after they were called to her home. Asha Khan assaulted the constables after they'd been asked to attend her address by her own parents.

Continue below to look at each of these cases, and see why these people were brought into court and dealt with.

Sharon Takacs

A drunk hospital worker spat in the face of a police officer after she was removed from an airport hotel for throwing items at staff and being abusive.
Sharon Takacs, who works on a ward caring for people with dementia, had been staying at the Britannia Hotel, in Newcastle, as she was due to fly to Cyprus the following morning. However, the 41-year-old decided to start drinking and she soon became abusive towards staff, a court heard.
She started being aggressive towards staff and threw items, prompting the police to be called. As she was being escorted from the premises, Takacs broke an internal door and later went on to spit on an officer, hitting him on the chest and face.
Takacs, of Dalkeith Place, in Hawick, in the Scottish Borders, has now been fined £461 and ordered to pay £50 each in compensation to the police officer and the hotel after she pleaded guilty to assaulting an emergency worker, being drunk and disorderly and criminal damage. Ellie Burns

A woman spat in the mouth of an officer and bit his shoulder during a violent outburst as she was being arrested.
Ellie Burns also kicked another constable as they tried to get her into a police van on a street in North Tyneside. A court heard that officers had been called to the scene after the 22-year-old "lost it" when she discovered her boyfriend had been cheating on her.
However, as she was being detained, she turned even more aggressive and initially had to be placed on the floor. Burns then kicked one constable in the leg before spitting in the mouth of another and biting his shoulder, prosecutors said, and fortunately, the bite only left reddening and didn't break the skin.
Burns, of Swarland Road, in Seaton Delaval, has now been fined £240 and ordered to pay the officers a total of £200 compensation after she pleaded guilty to two counts of assaulting an emergency worker. She must also pay £85 in costs and a £96 victim surcharge. Read the full story here.(Image: ChronicleLive)

Callum Bruce

A drunk man sat in the middle of the road then assaulted a passing motorist who had been forced to stop as a result.
Callum Bruce spotted the victim in her car and began banging on the vehicle before pushing her with such force that she fell backwards. A court heard that the police were called to the unprovoked assault but, rather than calm down, the disgusting 34-year-old spat on an officer.
Bruce, who hadn't been in trouble since 2012, has now ended his 13 years of good behaviour after he pleaded guilty to assault by beating and assaulting a police constable. The court heard that Bruce, of Brookland Terrace, in North Shields, then spat on one of the female officers before saying "I'm sorry about that".
In a statement, the constable said: "Spitting is a voluntary act and this male chose to spit when I was trying to help him from hurting himself." Magistrates fined Bruce £665 and ordered him to pay £75 compensation to each of his victims. Read the full story here.(Image: Newcastle Chronicle)
