Jennifer Lopez‘s Las Vegas residency has begun, with the star bringing numerous covers into her set including Lana Del Rey’s ‘Young And Beautiful’.

The first show took place on New Year’s Eve at the Colosseum at Caesars and continues tonight and tomorrow (January 2-3). Lopez will perform further shows from March 6-28.

Alongside the Lana Del Rey cover, Lopez also offered her own interpretation of Barbra Streisand‘s ‘Don’t Rain on My Parade’ and Elvis Presley‘s ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ alongside many of her own hits including ‘Jenny From the Block’ and ‘Let’s Get Loud.’ Ja Rule also made a guest appearance to perform ‘Ain’t It Funny’ and ‘I’m Real.’

During the show, Lopez humorously addressed criticisms of her dress. “‘Why’s she always dress that way?’” Lopez said from the stage. “‘Why don’t she dress her age?’ I was like, ‘Huh? What?’”

She added that her response to the question “Why is she always naked?” is “I said, ‘If you had this body, you’d be naked too!’”

Lopez’s new residency shows are her first since she cancelled her ‘This Is Me… Live’ tour in 2024, which she said was to spend time with her family. This, media outlets reported, was due to the state of her marriage to her husband Ben Affleck, who she divorced in early 2025.

Variety reports that sources close to Lopez insisted that the tour was not being cancelled due to low ticket sales, pointing to strong sales in cities such as Newark, Orlando, Miami, Chicago, Anaheim and Toronto. However, the outlet also reported that sales elsewhere had been very poor.

Seven shows on the tour, which would have been Lopez’s first North American run in five years, were quietly cancelled in March. Entertainment Weekly reported that the cancellations were likely due to a “logistical issue” on the tour promoter’s end (via Mirror).
