A Year Later, I Still Recommend This Patio Set—And It’s 30% Off Right Now
The Patio Set Has Lasted A Year and Is On Sale for Under $100
by Home · Popular MechanicsI’ve been decking out my backyard with newness in anticipation of summer: a hammock chair sits in the corner for naps, my deck box is stocked with extra chairs for guests, and my planter will (hopefully) add some extra greenery. I’m improving, wherever and however I can, to really dial in the space for the warmer days ahead.
One thing I haven’t upgraded is my patio furniture set. Why? Because there’s no need. I snagged this Flamaker Outdoor Patio Set last summer, and it’s held up impressively well for the past year. The chairs are sturdy and comfortable, and the table is great for morning coffees and afternoon beers. I’ve gotten my money’s worth at full retail, but right now the set is almost 30% off, bringing the price down to under $100.

In my experience, patio furniture can be hit-or-miss; I’ve bought rattan chairs that have only lasted a couple of months tops, and Adirondack chairs that were solid but uncomfortable to sit in. These Flamaker chairs hit the sweet spot. They’ve sat outside uncovered through rain, snow, and blaring sun, and have held up exceptionally well. I bought them in a pinch after some rattan chairs broke a leg, and I needed something for a weekend gathering. I thought they’d get the job done, but didn’t think they’d be all that good—I was wrong.
The assembly took all of 20 minutes when they first arrived. The chairs’ frames are made of powder-coated steel for weather resistance and support. They feel sturdy but are still easy to pick up and reconfigure around the yard, depending on how many people are visiting. The rattan backing hasn’t faded, splintered, or snagged, and provides nice cushioning. Seat cushions come with removable covers, though I typically just hose them down to remove dirt or pollen.

I really love the chairs’ sitting height and angles. I like a squat height—between a ground-level beach chair and a tall camp chair—and a slightly angled chair back for a slight, yet supported lean. I’ve sat in these chairs for hours reading, working, chatting, etc., and don’t find myself constantly repositioning to get comfortable.
The table is a nice addition and is a great place to house drinks or games. The tempered glass top is also a nice touch and is easy to clean. My only knock is the hardware. The hex bolt heads have gotten quite rusty, but it’s a cheap and easy fix. I bought extra hex bolts and nuts at the hardware store to swap them out before Memorial Day Weekend.
If you’re looking to cozy up a small yard or patio, I highly recommend this Flamaker set, especially while it’s on sale. As someone who’s constantly puttering in my yard to see what can be improved, it’s the one piece I don’t feel the need to change. It’s a steal at just $85, giving you more than your money’s worth. Grab it before the sale ends and summer fanfare begins.
