Police have issued a warning after an 'illegal' rave sparked complaints from locals in Cornwall. Officers were dispatched to Ladock Woods outside Truro in the wake of complaints regarding blaring music and hefty bass lines.

The event was attended by police shortly after midnight on Sunday, October 27, as undeterred ravers partied until dawn. Local residents endured a sleepless night, bombarded by relentless music that carried on well into the early hours, with many expressing their inability to get any rest due to the disturbance.

Footage captured at the boisterous gathering illustrates revellers immersed in dance amidst the strobe of lights against the breaking daylight. The vicinity felt the impact, with one resident remarking on the "rammed" car park and the additional inconvenience caused by vehicles lining the road, branding the scenario "awful".

Officers returned to the woodland party site twice that night to deliver cautionary advice concerning the excessive volume and alert party-goers about the dangers of drink-driving. By Sunday afternoon, it was reported that the rave had wound down and attendees had been assessed as being in a suitable condition to drive away from the area, CornwallLive reports.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called shortly after midnight on Sunday, October 27, following reports of a possible rave at Ladock Woods. Officers attended on two occasions and liaised with those present about noise and issued strong words of warning around driving under the influence prior to the group's departure.

"By mid-Sunday afternoon individuals present had left the site after those driving were declared fit to drive."
