by · DevonLive

An inquest has been scheduled following the tragic discovery of a woman's body inside a Blackpool restaurant. The deceased, found at the Gurkha Restaurant which offers Chinese, Thai, and Indian cuisine on Waterloo Road, was identified as Sabrina Lyttle, aged 47.

Police were called to the scene at around 1pm on Saturday, November 30, where Sabrina's body was found in one of the restaurant's toilets. Her mother, Catherine, has since suggested that her daughter had used the restaurant's facilities two days prior.

Reports indicate that diners had mentioned an inaccessible toilet cubicle, but Sabrina's body was not found until November 30.

Lancs Live reported her mother's Facebook post: "My daughter entered the property on Thursday November 28 to use the toilet. Post mortem is still waiting to find the cause of death but her body was not discovered until Saturday afternoon."

A spokesperson for Lancashire Constabulary commented: "We were called at shortly after 1pm on Saturday, November 30 to a report of a sudden death at an address on Waterloo Road in Blackpool.", reports the Manchester Evening News.

"Officers attended and sadly the body of a woman in her 40s was found dead inside the address. Our thoughts are with her loved ones at this time. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

The inquest into Sabrina's untimely death is set to take place at Blackpool Town Hall, beginning at 10am on Thursday, April 3.

MEN has reached out to both Gurkha Restaurant and Blackpool Council for statements regarding the incident.
