Everyone Is Sharing The Same Take On These New US Military Draft Guidelines

In case you missed it, there was some pretty big military news the other week!
The US Army announced it would be increasing its maximum enlistment age from 34 to 42.
Before this rule change, you needed to start Basic Training and be in boots before turning 35, but now you have until your 43rd birthday to get started.
People online weren't exactly thrilled about it.
My favorite reaction being, "Boomers weren't quite done with the fucking over Millennials."
Sooo, more news!
Starting in December, eligible men between the ages of 18-25 will now be automatically registered for the draft.
The Hill reports, "Most men between the ages of 18 and 25 are already required to register with the Selective Service, but automatic registration was mandated in December 2025 as part of the fiscal 2026 National Defense Authorization Act."
People aren't thrilled!

One person asked the perennial, "Are we winning yet??"

Another person joked(?), "If recruiters knock on my door, I will snap my leg in front of them."

And another person egged MAGA on with, "Here ya go MAGA your chance to fight for Donald Trump."

But, BY FAAAR, the most common response is about one big contradiction.

It's this: "We can automatically register to draft but not to vote. Got it."

As Texas House candidate Sara McGee said, "If they can automatically register you for WAR, they can automatically register you to VOTE."
