"Good Riddance": The Internet Is Not Holding Back Its Thoughts On Lindsey Graham's Death

If you hadn't heard, Sen. Lindsey Graham died this weekend.

According to a statement from his office, the cause of death was a "brief and sudden illness."

Graham, a controversial figure, made headlines for publicly opposing Donald Trump's 2016 candidacy, but later fully supported his multiple presidential runs and became a close ally.

The internet had a wide range of reactions to the 71-year-old's death. Here are a few:

Many people expressed shock at the news, given this week's reports of 84-year-old Mitch McConnell's declining health. "Not the Republican senator people expected," one person said.

"They didn't confuse him with Mitch McConnel did they?"

"The guy running Mitch McConnell's interference is top tier apparently."

While others showed little to no sympathy for Graham:

"He will be remembered as one of the most hypocritical, spineless, unprincipled, two-faced politicians in American history."

"At this point it's the only way these people will ever leave office. We need term limits."

And finally, people questioned what this would mean for the upcoming South Carolina Senate election.

"Ok so the South Carolina Senate race just got a whole lot more interesting. Graham was up for reelection in 2026."
