Yesterday, the twice-impeached, criminally charged 78-year-old who purportedly incited an insurrection on our nation's Capitol (said he would imprison, punish, or "handle" any American citizen who stood against him, uplifted white supremacists, and who was found liable for sexual abuse) was elected to be our next president.
It's a fact some are still grappling with while others are celebrating. Regardless of which group you land in or whether you agree, here's what people are saying about Trump's win:
1. "I want to be a teacher, but the Department of Education is at stake."
—Anonymous
2. "Looks like a small percentage of Americans are upset. The majority is glad to get this administration, who caused so much harm, out of office. This election was a reflection of their woke agenda being rejected by Americans and the desire to have a hard worker back in office that put America first."

3. "I'm a queer, disabled woman. I'm on Medicaid and SNAP. I'm waiting on SSI, and I'm on birth control. I'm terrified right now."
—Anonymous
4. "Voting for a third party is wasting your vote. That’s not a political statement; it’s an unequivocal fact."
"Now, if you’re OK with that, then fine. But if you’re someone who is complaining about Trump and voted Stein, then you’re being hypocritical."
—Anonymous
5. "I'm British and I am beyond horrified that the majority of Americans voted for a racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, climate change-denying, semi-senile, semi-evil egomaniac who is a convicted felon who instigates hatred and violence and can barely string a coherent or truthful sentence together."
"I mean, what — and I cannot stress this enough — the actual hell were people thinking?? I dare say Kamala has her flaws, but surely ANYONE would be a better choice than that absolute travesty of a human being?"
—Anonymous
6. "Democrats cry and whine when told no or just being a sore loser honestly. While Republicans don't give up and push to win! TRUMP 2024!"
—Anonymous
7. "Good grief. I wish people understood at least the basics of how the US government works. Presidents have nothing to do with inflation, gas prices, mortgage rates, or the price of eggs in the supermarket. Presidents also can't act alone to do much of anything."
"When Trump won the last time, he promised a very similar list and accomplished nothing. His big thing at that time was overturning Obamacare. Not only did he fail at that, he's mysteriously dropped that from his agenda. The only thing he did was cause a bunch of chaos. He also promised mass deportations last time, and that didn't happen either."
—Anonymous
8. "Y'all are just salty that more than half of America disagrees with your opinions. The majority has spoken. Get over it and stop the gaslighting."
—Anonymous
9. "Women are dying. Preventably. Half the nation said, 'More of this please!' F it. We need to split this country up."
—Anonymous
10. "Democrats did this to themselves. Your country is not ‘racist/fascist/bigot’ whatever. People feel unsafe and can’t afford living a regular life. It was not difficult to offer a decent plan to fix those things. But all Harris offered was…nothing."
"It was all about labels, colors and emotion and to the majority of voters that did not matter. Not that it was unimportant, but it simply mattered a hell of a lot less than ‘feeling unsafe and wanting a better income.’ You hate to hear it, I know you do, and I’ll be told to fuck right off, but as an outsider, I am telling you how it is in my own country. Fix the ‘feeling’ for safety and make food and rent affordable and people will be as tolerant as you can dream.
It was a huge Democratic mistake to have put the focus where they did. And maybe, just maybe, the Democratic or left-leaning voters could stop focusing on small things and in-fighting and UNITE. You’re unacceptably fractured for how bad things are."
—Anonymous
11. "The only thing unfortunate is that we have to wait for January for him to actually get into the White House!"
—Anonymous
12. "I’m really scared. For women, for my LGBTQ+ friends and family, for all of us."
"Let’s try our best to hold each other close and do what we can to protect one another. It’s about to be (well, going to continue to be) yet another terrifying portion of American history. What’s left of America."
—Anonymous
13. "I’m really sad and disappointed. I can’t believe our country did this again. But we will be OK."
"We need to keep our heads up and continue to fight for what’s right. We will get through the next four years. And hopefully then America will wake up and never elect a fascist again."
—Anonymous
14. "PRESIDENT TRUMP VP VANCE. A brighter future to save USA. I am proud to know most citizens couldn't take all the lies from Biden-Harris. God bless this great nation."
—Anonymous
15. "People who voted for Trump because 'the economy was good under Trump' are being very stupid. Trump inherited the economy from Obama, and Biden inherited the economy from Trump."
"It's a never-ending cycle. When they say 'what has Kamala done as VP,' what has anyone fucking done as VP?? Trump's plan only benefits wealthy white men. I don't understand how you can be a minority and vote for Trump — his plan isn't going to benefit you!"
—Anonymous
16. "I’m more scared of half this country than of Trump. Do you Trump voters not believe what comes out of Trump’s mouth?"
"Or do you want to destroy the government and put someone in charge of the CDC who doesn’t believe in vaccines or fluoride in water?"
—Anonymous
17. "Can’t believe he has been elected. You guys picked the criminal and the couch lover. It’s hard to take America seriously anymore."
"It’s like the troubled black sheep of the family no one wants to talk about or have anything to do with."
—Anonymous
18. "We the people will soon be unburdened by what has been an intolerable four years of what will go down in history as one of the very worst president and vice presidents in history! TRUMP 2024!"
—Anonymous
19. "America would rather burn itself down than see real change and progress. As a Black woman I'm disgusted, disappointed, and afraid."
—Anonymous
20. "Two hundred forty-eight years and millions of Americans still don’t see women as equal citizens. They choose the biggest buffoon who’s ever run (horrible on every level possible) over a highly qualified, intelligent woman. I’m heartbroken."
"Sadly not surprised as we’ve been through this exact scenario before with Hillary, but heartbroken nonetheless. I’m so sad my 98-year-old grandmother (who voted for Kamala) won’t get to see the first US female president in her lifetime."
—Anonymous
21. "This is the point where all the history books will describe as the moment the US was lost. I've been disappointed over elections before but never had this sinking feeling that things are about to get so much worse."
"I don't want to hear a single fucking peep from any of you in a few years when he has ripped our country apart... YOU all did this, and if anyone that voted for him doesn't think he will turn on you as well, you obviously have not been paying attention."
—Anonymous
22. "Now Kamala can get back to what she does best — nothing."
—Anonymous
23. "I’m not American, so can’t really say anything, but WTF! How was a felon even allowed to run for president? I’m so sorry for the Americans who didn’t vote for Trump."
—Anonymous
24. "Treasonous, impeached, convicted felon. That is who the majority of American people picked as their leader. How? Why?? A true patriot cares about their country and its citizens."
"I’m truly devastated for our country. This is another dark day for America because of Trump."
—Anonymous
25. "TRUMP ALL THE WAYYYYYY. MAGA, MAGA, MAGA!!!!!"
—Anonymous
26. "Hope everyone enjoyed living in a free country while it lasted. The dictatorship starts in January. This country is f*cked."
—Anonymous
27. "America really hates women enough to throw anyone who isn’t a cis white man under the bus, huh?"
"Those that voted against their own human rights will realize they’re not special soon enough. I just wish they didn’t have to take us all down with them."
—Anonymous
28. "Wise up and listen when President Trump is speaking! Anywho, nobody's stopping you to go to a country where you think you have all your rights."
—Anonymous
29. And finally, "Americans proving once again why the world thinks we're stupid and arrogant. Fucking embarrassing."
—Anonymous
