Brady used the video to show that although he hadn't previously been involved in politics, he has experience in problem-solving. He also said in the caption, "The campaign is unserious. The candidacy isn't."
He did have a platform, too. Brady ran on improving transit infrastructure, creating pathways out of homelessness, and building housing.
And earlier this week, the people of Kelowna elected him to the city council, despite his best efforts.
In a video posted to his Instagram, Brady thanked people for voting for him and said, "I'm looking forward to it. I did not start this campaign lightly, as much as it may have seemed. I'm well aware of what the job is, and what interests me is not the work, but the opportunity to do some genuine good. To lend a new perspective that I have seen lacking."
"There's other voices out there that need to be represented strongly, and that's what I want to do. So I'm excited about the new council and the mayor, looking forward to working with all of them...and I think it's gonna be a good four years, so thanks, everybody."
