On Oct. 1, news broke that Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s partner, Ken Urker, had died.
According to People, Ken was found unresponsive inside a home in Louisiana on his 34th birthday.
Gypsy’s brother, Dylan, and his wife purportedly found Ken after Gypsy allegedly sent him a “happy birthday” text and received no response.
The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office purportedly confirmed that Ken was found “dead upon arrival” after officers were called to a residence in Raceland.
Ken’s sister, Autumn, later went live on TikTok and confirmed his passing, revealing that his last words to her were “I love you.”
Gypsy and Ken first connected while Gypsy was still in prison for the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. They got engaged in October 2018, though parted ways shortly after — before reuniting in August 2019.
After splitting again, Gypsy and Ken ended up reconciling publicly in April 2024, before welcoming their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, in December 2024.
Following the news of Ken’s death, Gypsy told People, “I’m in disbelief. I can’t think. I’ve screamed until my throat burns.”
Alleging to People that Ken died of an overdose, Gypsy said, “I don’t know if it was intentional or not. He was not in a good state of mind lately.”
Gyspy also said, “Ken was an amazing father and a man who was deeply loved. He will forever be my soulmate and my red string, a connection that time, distance, and even death can never erase.”
“Above all, Ken loved our daughter, Aurora. She is a beautiful reflection of his enduring spirit, and through her, a part of him will always remain with us. I will make sure she grows up knowing how deeply her father loved her and who he was beyond what strangers on the internet chose to say about him,” she said.
