Italian PM Giorgia Meloni loses referendum – POLITICO
· POLITICOROME — Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on Monday lost a high-stakes referendum on justice reform, according to official results.
With almost all of the votes counted, some 53.74 percent of people opposed Meloni’s proposed reforms, with 46.26 percent supporting them.
Conceding the vote, Meloni posted on X: “The Italians have decided. And we respect this decision. We will carry on, as we always have, with responsibility, determination, and respect for the Italian people and for Italy.”
