Police search for Vancouver Island online dating scammer who breached court-ordered conditions

A Vancouver Island man is currently wanted for breach of court-ordered conditions in connection with a series of online dating scams.

Greater Vancouver Crime Stoppers says Brodie Brooks pleaded guilty in 2025 to defrauding 14 people, mostly women, throughout the Greater Victoria area.

“He used online dating platforms to identify and contact victims, ultimately stealing more than $90,000,” Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers posted on social media.

“Brodie Brooks is strongly advised to turn himself in to Saanich Police.”

Police advise members of the public to never, under any circumstances, send money to people they meet online.

Anyone with information about Books’ whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
