Former California Rep. Eric Swalwell became the centre of attention when charges of sexual assault and misconduct were levelled against him by his former staff. And now a new report of his affair with political adviser Katie Miller is making waves. As per the report, their fling happened when a 22-year-old Katie was interning in Washington, D.C.

Eric Swalwell and Katie Miller’s fling happened before she got married to Stephen Miller

The Capitol Hill blog Sources Say News released a new report in which details of Eric Swalwell’s fling with Katie Miller surfaced. Katie is a former adviser at the Department of Government Efficiency turned conservative podcast host. Their fling happened well before Katie married controversial U.S. homeland security adviser Stephen Miller.

As per a source, Katie was the kind of woman Swalwell was accustomed to targeting. Katie worked as a congressional staffer to Vice President Mike Pence. After quitting the job, she began her self-titled podcast. As per the source:

“Katie was 22 at the time and a congressional intern, exactly the type of woman that Eric Swalwell was accustomed to targeting.”

Katie Miller criticised Eric Swalwell during sexual assault allegations 

It was in April 2026 when Swalwell was suspended from his campaign for governor of California after multiple women accused him of inappropriate behaviour. The report mentioned an unnamed woman who described her interactions with Swalwell and revealed being assaulted by him twice. The woman worked for Swalwell in 2019 when the first assault happened.

In 2024, the assault happened after a charity gala. She told the newspaper that in both cases, she was too drunk to provide consent. She also revealed that she didn’t go to the police as she was afraid that no one would believe her. 

When reports of Eric Swalwell’s misconduct surfaced, Katie shared criticisms of Swalwell and also revealed that the California Democrat’s behaviour was the worst kept secret. Revealing how there were many victims of Swalwell’s behaviour, Katie wrote on X:

“As someone who doesn’t normally believe all women, I believe her, and the many lined up behind her. Eric Swalwell’s behaviour was the worst kept secret on Capitol Hill. I’m positive she was not the only intern.”

There have been many Uncorroborated rumours about Swalwell behaving inappropriately with female staffers, and they have been surfacing on social media. CNN also reported that an ex-staffer and three additional women accused Swalwell of making sexual advances and sending explicit photos and messages.

After the allegations, there were many women who came forward to narrate their ordeal. One of them revealed that she found herself intoxicated while ending up at Swalwell's hotel room with little memory of the evening. She also revealed that Swalwell kissed her and touched her leg without her consent.

Another woman reported a similar experience, saying she connected with Swalwell on Instagram in 2025 and he sent her his phone number. She said she later met with him in person and that he touched her leg and kissed her nonconsensually and ordered her a drink. She also revealed that she ended up in his hotel room with no memory of what happened.
