In a resurfaced conversation with Sun TV, Trisha Krishnan jovially stated wanting to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu someday. The clip is from a decades-old interview; however, it has been gaining massive attention on social media on May 9, 2026, coinciding with her Leo co-star, Vijay Thalapathy's oath-taking ceremony. In the clip, Trisha humorously told everyone to watch out for her, as she would achieve the prestigious title of CM within the next ten years. Her exact words were:

"Definitely I want to become the CM of Tamil Nadu. Honestly! Wait and see; I will achieve it in the next 10 years."

The particular video of Trisha Krishnan has been going viral largely because of rumours of her alleged affair with Vijay, which has been making the rounds for quite some years now. When she was asked what she would do if she became the Chief Minister, Trisha gave a light-hearted reply and joked, "First, you all vote and elect me, then I'll tell you!" The Khatta Meetha actress laughed throughout and made animated gestures as she talked about becoming the CM, indicating that the entire conversation was in pure jest.

Trisha Krishnan and Vijay Thalapathy's alleged affair buzz heightened after his wife filed for a divorce

Vijay Thalapathy's wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam reportedly filed for divorce at the Chengalpattu Family Court, citing infidelity and mental cruelty as the primary reasons. She claimed to have discovered in April 2021 that the Tamil star was involved in an adulterous relationship with an actress. While the petition does not name the actress (likely to protect her privacy), social media speculation has frequently linked him to his Leo co-star, Trisha Krishnan, though these claims remain unverified. The plea states that although Vijay initially assured Sangeetha that his extramarital affair would end, he allegedly continued it without remorse.

Sangeetha further alleged that Vijay became emotionally distant, withdrew from conjugal life, and subjected her to public humiliation.
