And now, reports have surfaced with some chilling details about the scene after the actress died.

According to a new report by TMZ, Hayden Panettiere had turned "deep purple" after she died from a drug overdose in a South Carolina apartment. The report has further confirmed that pressed pills laced with fentanyl were found on a table near her body. The news of the actress's death has been haunting her fans and family for a while now. After waiting for over a month, some questions were finally answered, but the new details from the day she died left everyone stunned.

The report further revealed that one of the brothers said he observed Hayden Panettiere applying makeup at 10:30 AM on the day of her death. The brother, whose name was redacted, said he went back to bed and was later awakened by a knock at the door. Moments later, the brothers discovered Hayden face-down in a sitting position on a sofa bed with her legs crossed. They also noticed the actress had turned deep purple as they tried to wake her up but failed.

A combination of drugs was found around Hayden Panettiere's dead body and in her system

The Greenville County Medical Examiner released a more detailed investigative report on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, after first announcing Hayden's cause and manner of death. In the statement, the M.E. said Hayden had a combination of drugs in her system that included fentanyl, the anti-anxiety medication alprazolam, a muscle relaxer, and a drug used to treat major depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.

The report, which was later shared by TMZ, revealed that a senior deputy coroner responded to an Airbnb in Greenville, SC, where Hayden Panettiere was staying with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, and his brother, Zach, after the actress had died on August 16, 2026. The deputy coroner revealed that she interviewed both Brian and Zach Hickerson, whose names were redacted in the report.

For those who don't know, Zach Hickerson previously told the media outlet that his brother Brian Hickerson administered Narcan and then called 911. According to the report notes, 2 doses of Narcan were administered to Hayden Panettiere. The deputy coroner noted that one of the brothers told her that he was unsure whether Hayden had consumed illicit drugs in the last two days because "she was very good at hiding them."

The report also states she had been in rehab weeks before her death. The investigator also interviewed Hayden Panettiere's dad, Skip, who said the actress had planned to celebrate her 37th birthday on August 21, 2026, in Greenville, before flying to Ukraine to see her daughter. Additionally, the report states that the investigator found blue pressed pills that tested positive for fentanyl, along with a straw on a table, and white powder in a sunglasses case inside her suitcase.

The media outlet also alleged that Drug Enforcement Administration agents are investigating Hayden Panettiere's death. They have zeroed in on her longtime drug dealer, who they believe is based in Los Angeles. Sources have also stated that the agents believe the dealer supplied Hayden with black market drugs laced with fentanyl that ultimately may have led to her death.
