Nancy Guthrie Case, Podcaster Questions Savannah's Silence With Media, Asks, 'Am I Only One Who..'
While everyone has been focused on Nancy Guthrie's disappearance, questions about Savannah have also surfaced online.
by Saakshi Gupta · BollywoodShaadisNancy Guthrie has been missing for more than 100 days, and during this time, several theories have surfaced about what might have happened to her. Meanwhile, investigators are still searching for answers. Although the focus has been on finding the missing 84-year-old, the public scrutiny recently shifted towards her daughter, Savannah Guthrie, and how the public has handled the case.
Podcast questions Savannah Guthrie
A new debate has started after true-crime podcaster, Zack Peter, openly questioned why Savannah Guthrie has not spoken to Brian Entin. For those unaware, Brian is the reporter who has closely covered the case from the ground in Arizona. Zack shared his thoughts during an appearance on Hots Mics with Billy Bush. He admitted he found it strange that Savannah did not sit for an interview with Brian, who is consistently covering the case.
"Am I the only one who finds it so strange that nearly 100 days in, Savannah Guthrie hasn't spoken to Brian Entin? He's been the main guy trying to find answers re: Nancy Guthrie, and not even a 'thank you' from the family?"
Zack pointed out that Brian has been one of the few journalists actively following the new developments in Tucson. In fact, he is speaking directly to law enforcement sources. Later, he repeated his concerns on X and questioned why there is no public acknowledgment or interview from the Guthrie family. His comments quickly gained traction online, sparking a debate over whether Savannah's Silence was understandable or unusual.
For those unaware, Brian, a senior correspondent at NewsNation, mentioned it previously. He revealed that he was trying to arrange a conversation with Savannah behind the scenes. But, no such interview happened. The podcaster also called out the family's "controlled" public approach. He highlighted that Savannah has mainly spoken through familiar media spaces, including her interview with former Today co-host, Hoda Kotb. Zack feels that the family's messaging approach has shifted from urgent pleas to less direct updates, raising doubts.
Internet users reacted to Zack Peter's questions
The internet was divided over Peter's remarks. Some argued that speaking with Brian could help keep the case in the spotlight and might yield new leads. Other users strongly defended Savannah and mentioned that she is under no obligation to do so. They mentioned that she had already used Today to raise awareness and that she had announced a USD 1 million reward for credible leads. One user penned, "She is going through her own hell. I cannot imagine the pain of not knowing where your loved one is."

Pima County Cop questions Annie Guthrie and Tommaso Cioni's claims
On the other hand, a separate debate has raised more questions. Prime County Sheriff's Department official, Sgt. Aaron Cross reportedly told Brian that Guthrie's family initially told Nancy might have "walked away" to investigators. But Savannah's public statement was different. She mentioned during a conversation with Hoda Kotb that her siblings, Annie and Camron, told her Nancy did not wander off, but something more serious had happened.
Meanwhile, Brian called the different statements a "new development". He believes it is an update since Sheriff, Chris Nanos had already publicly cleared the family members of any suspicion in the investigation.
