The buzz has it that CBS News has found a replacement for '60 Minutes' correspondent Anderson Cooper, and it's none other than Joe Rogan.
by Juhi Sharma · BollywoodShaadisCBS has found a replacement for Anderson Cooper, or so the latest buzz suggests. According to reports, the news agency was looking for someone to replace Cooper on 60 Minutes. However, after a long search, it seems like the network executives may have their sights set on Austin-based podcaster, Joe Rogan. However, while there hasn't been any official confirmation, here's what we know so far.
Joe Rogan to host 60 Minutes
The buzz began after a RadarOnline report cited CBS News as considering Joe Rogan as a potential replacement. For the unversed, Rogan boasts 20.9 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, "PowerfulJRE," and millions of viewers of his podcast, "The Joe Rogan Experience," would be "strategy," not "stunt casting." They further alleged that the 58-year-old media mogul speaks to "viewers who feel ignored or mocked by legacy media," a viewership that, if reengaged, would solve the network's ratings and credibility problems. However, despite the buzz, the news is yet to be confirmed. Nonetheless, many have alleged that it might just be the change that CBS News needed.

For the unversed, Cooper had been a part of the show for more than two decades, which made his exit extremely heartbreaking for his daily viewers. In a statement, he said he wanted to spend "as much time" as possible with his kids, and that was the reason he was stepping away.
The anchor confirmed his departure to PEOPLE and said he will not renew his contract with CBS, bringing his tenure as a correspondent to a close. In a statement to the media outlet, he revealed that his decision eventually came down to his family. His last broadcast was on May 17, 2026. He shared how being a dad has taken a major role in his decision-making and stated:

I got to tell amazing stories, and work with some of the best producers, editors, and camera crews in the business.
