Abia Governor, Alex Otti Casts Vote In Local Government Elections

The governor, who arrived at Unit 17, Ward 5, around 12:45 p.m., expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the election across the state.
Speaking to journalists after voting, Governor Otti commended the generally peaceful proceedings in the 4,062 polling units across Abia.
He acknowledged minor disturbances in Ohafia and Obingwa Local Government Areas, which security operatives quickly resolved.
Highlighting the importance of grassroots governance, Otti stressed that effective local administration is crucial to Abia’s comprehensive development goals.
He urged Abians to prioritize credibility and effectiveness over party affiliations when selecting candidates.
“If you want to continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy and see real performance, you need to vote for credible leaders, not just for a political party,” Otti said.
The governor’s call for competent leadership at the local level reinforces his administration’s commitment to accountability and development throughout Abia State.
