Gunmen Ambush, Kill Man In Plateau Community

The victim was reportedly waylaid and shot dead in the early hours of the day.
Confirming the incident to Vanguard in Jos, the National Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youth Movement, Rwang Tengwong, said the attackers ambushed the victim in the community.
According to him, the incident occurred at about 7 a.m. on Friday.
Tengwong explained that the gunmen waylaid the victim in the Tan Jol area, leading to his death.
“The gunmen ambushed the man in the Tan Jol area of the community, leading to his death,” he said.
The killing reportedly caused tension in the community as residents feared further attacks.
The incident is the latest in a series of violent attacks recorded in parts of Plateau State, particularly in Riyom Local Government Area, which has experienced recurring security challenges in recent years.
This comes after gunmen on Wednesday night attacked communities in Plateau State, killing two persons and injuring two others in separate incidents that have heightened fears among residents.
One of the attacks occurred in the Heipang community, opposite the Plateau State Polytechnic, where a woman was shot and later died from her injuries.
According to reports, the attack happened in the Ban community, Heipang, at about 11 p.m., when gunmen invaded the area and began shooting sporadically.
Three people were reportedly hit by bullets and rushed to a hospital for treatment. However, one of the victims, a woman, later died from gunshot wounds, while two others sustained injuries.
