Former Deputy Governor of Kano State, Nasiru Gawuna, on Monday, visited former presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, at his residence.

The visit was confirmed in a social media post by Kwankwaso, who expressed delight about hosting the former Kano governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking about the meeting, Kwankwaso said he looks forward to what lies ahead.

“Pleased to receive His Excellency Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, former Deputy Governor of Kano State, at my residence in Kano.

“Looking forward to what lies ahead,” he wrote on 𝕏.

Naija News reports that the visit comes on the same day Kwankwaso officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The former presidential candidate received his party membership card on Monday in Kano.

Kwankwaso registered as a member at Gidan Kwankwasiyya, Miller Road, Bompai, Kano.

The event drew prominent political figures, including David Mark, Aminu Tambuwal, Rotimi Amaechi, Peter Obi, Dino Melaye, and John Odigie-Oyegun.

It would be recalled that Gawuna had also resigned from his position as the Chairman of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) Governing Board.

Naija News reports that Gawuna, a former All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Kano State, is reportedly preparing to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) alongside former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

In a resignation letter dated March 27, 2026, Gawuna said his decision takes immediate effect and aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive requiring political appointees to step down in compliance with the Electoral Act ahead of future elections.

“My resignation is in strict compliance with the President’s directive requiring all political appointees to step down in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act,” he stated.

Gawuna thanked President Tinubu for giving him the opportunity to serve as chairman of the FMBN governing board.
