Vehicles transporting government personnel and essential supplies have returned to Mandalay after delivering aid and administrative support to towns and villages along the Mandalay-Madaya-Indaw-Myitkyina road.

The Mandalay-Madaya-Thabeikkyin-Tagaung-Htigyaing-Katha-Indaw-Mawlu-Nantsiaung Moehnyin-Mogaung-Myitkyina communication route, which links Mandalay Region with Sagaing Region and Kachin State and serves as a key transportation corridor for northern Myanmar, was fully reopened by the Tatmadaw on May 6 after being temporarily blocked by insurgent groups.

The reopening was aimed at restoring government administration, supporting local residents returning to their homes, ensuring the timely delivery of school textbooks and stationery ahead of the academic year, and meeting healthcare and other essential needs. To support these efforts, the government and the Tatmadaw, together with departmental staff, transported food, consumer goods, construction materials, medicines and medical supplies, school books and fuel from Mandalay to Myitkyina.

After completing their deliveries, the transport convoy departed Myitkyina on May 15 and arrived back in Mandalay on the evening of May 16 via Mogaung, Mohnyin, Nantsiaung, Mawlu, Indaw, Katha, Htigyaing, Tagaung, Thabeikkyin and Madaya.

The returning vehicles also carried local products from Myitkyina and other towns and villages along the route for sale in Mandalay. In addition, they transported departmental staff and their family members who had faced travel delays while transferring to new assignments, personnel traveling to attend training, and local residents seeking medical treatment in Mandalay.

With the Mandalay-Myitkyina route reopened, passenger and cargo vehicles are now operating normally along the corridor.
