MPT phone services restored in Falam, Chin State, after disruptions caused by terrorist incidents

It is reported that MPT mobile phone services have been restored in Falam, Chin State, where telephone lines had been disrupted due to terrorist incidents.

As MPT mobile phone services have been restored in Falam, arrangements have been made since September 16 for MPT mobile SIM cards to be used again.

Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Than Zaw Lwin inspected the arrangements together with the Chin State Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation and a member of the Chin State Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee.

Telephone communication lines in Falam had been disrupted due to terrorist incidents, leaving residents to use only MEC-CDMA services. Now that MPT mobile services have been restored, Chin State MPT staff are operating from the Falam Township General Administration Department office, where they are assisting with the reapplication for lost or damaged MPT mobile SIM cards, SIM card registration and the sale of new SIM cards.
