International Election observers depart Myanmar after monitoring phase one of General
· Eleven Media Group Co., LtdInternational election observers who monitored Phase One of the election have departed for their respective countries, according to reports.
Following the completion of Phase One of the multi-party democratic general election held on December 28, 2025, international election observers returned by air from Nay Pyi Taw Airport to Yangon. Union Election Commission member U Myo Hlaing, Nay Pyi Taw Council member U Myint Soe, chairpersons and members of the Union Territory and district election sub-commissions, relevant officials, and officials from the Union Election Commission Office saw the delegations off at the airport, it is learned.
The observer delegations included a team led by Mr. Deng Xijun, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, and Ms. Chen Xuanbo from the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China; a delegation led by Mr. Yerman Mukhtar, Vice Chairman of the Kazakhstan Central Election Commission; a delegation led by Mr. YICH Samethy, member of the Cambodia National Election Committee; a delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Duc Thinh, Head of International Relations from the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam; a delegation led by Mr. Mario Jose Armengol Campos from Nicaragua; and a delegation led by retired General Mr. Sahni Arun Kumar from India. These delegations departed by air at 12:30 p.m.
In addition, a delegation led by Mr. Sholban Kara-Ool, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, and another delegation led by Mr. Igor Borisov, member of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, departed by air at 6:20 p.m., according to reports.
