Shri Abhay Thakur, Ambassador of India to Myanmar.
He further said, “The “Study in India” program is being implemented through a dedicated online portal where students can research courses and institutions, find out about admission requirements, compare educational opportunities and get relevant information and support on a single platform. Over 600 students from Myanmar have registered under the “Study in India” program for the academic year 2026-27. Out of these, 268 students have received approved admissions and visas and 255 have already arrived in India. The remaining over 200 students have joined through other channels such as ICCR scholarships or direct admissions. Therefore, the “Study in India” portal is an important starting point for identifying suitable institutions and educational programs and completing the admission process.”
