A reopening ceremony for the Basic Education High School in Thingan Nyinaung, Myawaddy Township, Karen State, was held at 9:00 am. on June 3, 2026, after the school had remained closed for more than two years due to armed clashes that occurred along the Asia Highway and in the Thingan Nyinaung.

As stability gradually returns to the region, authorities carried out extensive renovation and rehabilitation work on the school, which had suffered deterioration during the period of closure. The restoration efforts were undertaken to ensure that students could resume their education in the 2026–2027 academic year.

Thanks to the completion of the necessary repairs and improvements, the school was able to reopen in time for the new academic year.
