Flights launch to improve access in Rakhine and Tanintharyi

Myanmar National Airlines (MNA) has launched flights to Rakhine State and Tanintharyi Region—areas with limited transportation access—starting April 24.

According to the Ministry of Transport, MNA is operating L-410 aircraft on routes from Yangon to Manaung and Kyaukpyu in Rakhine State. In Tanintharyi Region, flights are running from Myeik Airport to Dawei, Bokpyin, and Kawthoung beginning the same day.

The Yangon–Manaung–Kyaukpyu–Yangon service departed Yangon at 8:00 am on April 24 and returned to Yangon International Airport at 11:50 am. Similarly, the Myeik–Bokpyin–Kawthoung–Bokpyin–Myeik flight left Myeik at 8:00 am and arrived back at 10:30 am.
