Fraudsters Misuse Rector Sayadaw’s Title to Solicit Donations

Fraudulent activities involving the misuse of the title of Professor Dr Nandamalabhivamsa (also known as Rector Sayadaw), the Rector of a Buddhist university, have been reported, according to a statement issued by his close attendant team.

The statement said individuals have been engaging in improper activities, including soliciting donations under the Rector Sayadaw’s name and collecting money by claiming they would deliver donations directly to him.

The attendant team announced that, under the Sayadaw’s direct instruction, members of the public are strictly urged not to collect or contribute money through intermediaries for donation purposes, except for charitable activities directly submitted to and approved by the Sayadaw.
